Easy. Darcy doesn't like my personality here so he degrades my rsc posts as
worthless or not valuable or some right wing bullshit like that. Yet he says
you should not do this in the above quote!!

No, it is a fact. Views on your posts and personality are opinions, but
the it is a fact that the link you claim "he degrades my posts because he
doesn't like my personality" does not follow.

It is perfectly possible that he dislikes you but thinks your posts are
worthless anyway.

i.e. you have not shown hypocrisy.

We're voting on whether Larry's posts are worthless or not, right?

I like his stuff, given that he gives an SL perspective as well as
insights into the SL team and players from his own contacts.

Heck, it's worth much more than wading through endless trolls from
Alvey, calling Murali a chucker, or winding up NSVers when there isn't
a Test match to direct his bile elsewhere.

And what about you, Ian?
What do you contribute?

Rubbish. You idiot. Larry has posted 18000 messages in 4 years, with the
same basic message. 'Murali is not a chucker and I hate racists and
anybody who calls Murali a chucker is a white racist coolie bastard who
drives a rickshaw'. There are no words to describe the baseness of this
waste of millions of hours of collective time. There is no epithet vile
enough to categorize the baseness of this continuous act of malicious
net damage. When Alvey posts 18000 messages saying 'Murali chucks', then
come back and talk.

Nobody's lousy opinion. Again you resort to the mindless, and juvenile.
I recall in the 1st grade when somebody called another person a nasty
name, the responses generally were a. Run away to the teacher. b. start
bawling c. say "you are too, nyah nyah". You cover this whole list at
times, but you seem to prefer c.

I thought I *was* being kind. I remember the first time you posted to rsc.
It was quite clear that you had nothing but jingoism to bring to the party,
and no appreciation of cricket at all. I said so at the time, and nothing
has transpired to alter my opinion. Indeed, your posts since then have only
served to confirm this initial assessment. This pertains to rsc, though -
there may be areas in which you have a deep and profound understanding, it
just so happens that I don't subscribe to those newsgroups in which this is
exhibited.

Thing would be different if you were willing to learn, but you condemn any
contrary point of view to your own as racism, in one way or another. This
becomes trying after only a few seconds. I hope you have a very pleasant
holiday with your family, but I also hope you stop subjecting this group to
endless comment on a subject you clearly know very little about.

No problem.

Because he doesn't like your personality (and who does?) does not mean
that he automatically degrades your posts. It's the fact that your posts
are hideously repugnant that makes them, like you, worthless. And they
are impossible to degrade anyway.

And in the above, "he" may not necessarily represent JPD's opinions but
they sure as shit represents mine.

Oh and btw, you keep piteously bleating about how he's "right-wing".
Let's hear your explanation of exactly what you base this assertion on.
Come on then Bendigo's answer to Ernesto. Provide more laughs and answer
this.

Or you could just Piss Off right now. I'd much prefer the latter.

He correctly categorizes the rubbish you continue to post. It is nothing
personal. If you post something of value, to be consistent with the
above he would have to give it due consideration. Why you are casting
slurs based on political affiliation now surprises me, but it shouldn't.

Even though he correctly categorised John as a right winger?

Just a lucky guess, I suppose?

Mike, you pompous ass, 'Cloda Rogers' is the one who's fucked up here,
not Larry.
If you insist on criticising him, at least have the decency to
criticise him for the mistakes he makes, not the ones other people
make.

And speaking of which, you're indulging in a fair bit gratuitous

Don't kid yourself that your tiresome posts about how Murali chucks and

Often , you reap what you sow.

You started your 'Murali chucks club' thread, so don't be too surprised
that it's got a reaction.

Likewise if Mike is going to post offensive and dishonest stuff, I

worthless degree in journalism before you even start the course.

Yup, I'm sure it was a troll, Christian, but you do realise that Larry

And anyway, Larry apologised, for which Alvey threw it back in his
face. Of course, Alvey was actually only joking, which is just as well,
because when Larry apologised, he was only joking as well.

How come I have to explain all this stuff to you?
Don't you ever pay attention?

The funny thing is, the Lib-Dems aren't really what one would class

You must be talking about Australian politics.

In Britain, the Liberal Party was always a party of the Left, albeit
centre-left rather than Trotskyist, and despite the efforts of certain
social democrats when the Liberals and SDP merged, the Liberal
Democrats remain a centre-left party. That the party which split from
us in the early 20th century and is now in government has zigzagged
from far left to centre-right is not exactly our fault.

I assume you mean 'the party that the SDP split from'. Assuming this means
that you are a relic of the SDP rather than a consistent Liberal, perhaps
staying in the party would have provided you with the opportunity to help
steer the party when it undertook the responsibility of Government, rather
than choosing the rather comfortable path of eternal opposition?

Well, if you make one wrong assumption, then you are quite likely to
make even more on the back of it. Accusing me of ever having been a
member of the David Owen Fan Club Party is worse than anything that
Liar has ever flung at me, and I demand an immediate, grovelling
apology or I shall march to the sound of gunfire and then go back to
your constituency and prepare you for slaughter. (Cue choruses of
"I'll be buggered if I vote Liberal" and "Vote Liberal or we'll shoot
your dog".) A Guerre, Penhaligons!

The split I was referring to was the one a hundred years ago, when the
Labour Party split off from the Liberal Party. Of course, many of the
MPs who "defected" had really only been using the Liberal Party as a
vehicle until a Labour Party could get itself organised - and it's not
as though the split was acrimonious, since we didn't stand against
Labour candidates (such arrangements were much more common back then
than they are now). It was more a difference of opinion about tactics
and how far you could go how fast, and that even though we passed the
revolutionary 1906 Trade Union Act, the TUC didn't trust hereditary
members of the House of Lords to be on their side, even if they had
been up till then, and preferred people of their own choosing (which
seems fair enough to me).

Still, though it may fall to the Labour Party to preside over the
recovery of the Ashes, only the Liberal Democrats have the vision to
carry through the long-term policies which will lead to us retaining
them, possibly in perpetuity or until we lose an election. So vote Lib
Dem in 2009, if not before.

Cheers,

Lol. I stand most definitely corrected and admonished. I do, of course,
apologise unreservedly for this outrageous slur. Perhaps you just give the
impression of having been an SDP member. I'd sort that out if I were you.

Yes, which is why the word 'split' is a little misleading. The Labour Party
was formed by many Labour Representation organisations, that saw themselves
as Liberals politically and had few aspirations to form a seperate party of
their own. That the Liberal Party failed to wholly embrace this movement
and the injection of socialism in the early 20th century made it inevitable
that the growing Labour movement would become independent. Or so it seems
to me.

I think you'll find that like the football World Cup, England can only
succeed under a Labour government. Remember, the Labour party, after
eighteen years of being thrashed by their old enemy, took notice of their
tactics and produced a remarkable turnaround under a youthful and popular
leader. They look set to retain that advantage for some time to come. I
hope you can find this comforting, on one level if not the other.

If you're a classical conservative, it's not oxymoronic in the
slightest to refer to conservativism as liberal. Somewhere along the
line (almost certainly in America) 'liberal' was equated with
'communist' and thereafter 'leftist.'

I don't think Larry was categorising Mike as right wing, but, hey,

Absolutely so.

They seem to be further left than NewLabour reasonably
Post by Aditya Basrur
consistently.
That's what makes New Labour "New". The post-Thatcher, Reagan, (even
Rogernomics if you like, incidentally named after a Labour Treasurer in
the NZ Lange govt) political landscape is one in which old Keynesian
economic ideas are largely discredited, at least in the 'minds' of most
economists, and a new laissez-faire style market capitalism is rampant.
Mind you, a lot of the old style socialist approach was redundant and
economically stifling, and it is true that the unions had a generally
malign economic influence over both Aust and the UK in the 70s, but it
does appear that by turn the pendulum has swung much the other way, and
even 'socialist' govts have to kowtow to market forces. How much more
the unfortunate individual common worker.
I think that the Lib/Dems are essentially left wing, but not beholden to
unions, somewhat like our Democrats. Actually our largest '3rd force' if
you like are the Greens, for whom the clever catchphrase "they are like
watermelons. Green on the outside and red on the inside" was recently,
and hilariously, coined. I would think that the Greens are the extreme
left of world politics.

So what Mike's loathing of Larry has to do with him being

"right-wing" is difficult to understand.
Aditya
A typical Larry misfire. Incidentally, I have noted, or perhaps slightly
misapprehended, that nearly all intellectuals (I mean real
intellectuals, not Daniel Pipes or jumped up thugs and morons like
Wolfowitz or Perl or their ilk) are of the left. I don't include Larry

There was a thread started by Larry for serious discussion of Murali

It isn't a big deal, IMO, but you're lying here when you make out that
Larry is lying about JPD's political affiliations.
Well, Larry categorises me as somewhere between Pauline Hanson and the
KKK, which is a bit unfair, but as it is a baseless allegation which
my poking at will only inflame, I'll just let it sit there. Larry
should bear in mind, however, that the internet is not immune from
libel and slander laws. I use my real name here, and anyone doing a
Google search on my name will eventually find things such as Larry's
character assassination of me. For someone such as myself, who has
run for public office and may do so again, such things are worthy of
note. (And I am fully aware of having posted stuff under my name in
the past which makes me look like a gibbering twit, so the knife cuts
both ways).

Larry exaggerates, just as you've done to him when commenting about
him.

But here we have a poster trying to make out that Larry is lying again
about your political affiliations.
He isn't lying.
I'd describe you as a right winger.

But let's not kid ourselves that the latest round of insults hasn't
stemmed from Alvey's (and Calvin's) Larry-baiting posts.

And as for worthless posts, I fail to see why half the people who post
here, who contribute little else but 'Murali chucks' or 'Fuck off
Larry', consider that they're discussing the esoteric heights of
cricket, and seem quite surprised and outraged when Larry responds in
spades and then we get a load of tripe about how Larry is a nutcase and
a liar.

If some of those people buggered off, rsc would be a much better place.

Don't pull Larry's tail and then act all surprised at a reaction.

Answered MANY times. Asking someone to piss off from a certain place to me
is a very bigoted, far right winged view. In left wing politics, migrants to
Aus are encouraged and supported, not pissed off. Your hero Hanson saying
that Aus was being swamped by Asians is right wing thinking. Left wingers
would say, so what? If they work hard and pay their taxes, good on them. You

using this description. I'll call this one Q3.2.
And the moron wonders why I can't be bothered to take him out of my
killfile. You let him in, you attempt to ask him some questions, and
he doesn't answer but veers off into mindless abuse. To Bozo, "making
peace" involves inviting you out into the street and filling you full
of lead.
Cheers,
Mike
Mike,
if you insist on using a killfile, but you don't have AlveyTroll in
there, don't you think that makes you a bit of a moron?
He does have you in there, though. I would say that's pretty sensible.
Post by Larry de Silva
Who started all this abuse?
If one says that a particular poster posts worthless drivel, that may
not be personal abuse. If one uses foul racist epithets, and uses
scatalogical descriptors, that is abuse by definition.
Post by Larry de Silva
If you have the wherewithal to actually check up on rsc postings,
please do so.
It's blindingly obvious that Alvey is reaping what he's sown.
If you can't be bothered, just shut the fuck up, ok?

It's certainly 'mindless' as it's all become so totally & utterly
predictable. I'm coming around to Paulie's theory that Bozo is actually
a bot.

You're only saying that because he's Sri Lankan. Or Australian. I keep
forgetting which.

in briz, looking forward to RSA v Eng T2 as the English comms won't be
able to tell us that Harmlessone is World's #1 Bowler. He's #4 now.

Alternatively, they could all collectively piss off and in one fell
swoop they'd make rsc a better place to visit AND raise the collective
IQ of the group by 20 points or more

Explain, in 3000 words or less, how he has done this. Don't burst a
